O.k., this is going to hurt…

I’m starting back to the gym in the morning. The VERY early morning.
That isn’t what is going to hurt though. Nope, it’s the fact that I have someone to train with that is going to be training to be a law enforcement officer and I am going to train the same way that he is. Lot’s of cardio and resistance training to be involved in all of this.
Of course the bright side is that once I’ve reached my goal weight I WILL be in great shape. That isn’t what I am right now. I am the opposite of great shape. Unless round is a great shape.
So stay tuned as I keep the posts coming this time. You can all be first hand witnesses to me getting my ass whipped into shape. I will be posting pics along the way, don’t be scared I will be clothed. I will also be posting measurements and weight as well.

I think that it’s time that I take my own advice and BE GREAT!!!

WOW, I’ve been slacking. A LOT!!

I guess I’ve gotten a little wrapped up with work and life and have let my little slice of the internets fall by the wayside. My plan, I know the best laid…, is to start creating more content about what is transpiring in my life as I move forward on the path of creating my own business and stepping out into the world of self employment.
I will blog about some of the things that I learn along the way as well as some of the mistakes I make. Of those I’m sure there will be plenty. So if your interested or even if your not stay tuned.

Weight day

I weighed this morning and found that I had gained 2 pounds since last Thursday. Was I shocked? No. I know that there will be weeks when I lose several pounds and I know that there will be weeks when I don’t lose any and there will be some when I gain. I also know that the more muscle mass I have the more that will effect my weight fluxuations.

So does that mean that I gained 2 pounds of muscle? I don’t know. I do know that I slipped a little last night when I attended a friends birthday event at The Comedy Club. Had a few beers and ate food that isn’t even CLOSE to being what I am trying to do for myself.

The good or bad, depending on how you view it, is that the entire time I was eating and having a good time I felt/knew that I was not making a mistake, but I wasn’t doing what I knew I should. So with that being sad I will forge ahead with my plans to reach 235 pounds no matter how long that takes. My short term goal (12 weeks) is to lose at least 50 pounds. I mean that is only a half a pound a day. I think that is VERY possible and I am GOING to make that goal.

Day 8 of 84

WOW!! That makes it seem forever away. I’m cool with that because I can see my goal in all this. No, I don’t think I will lose the whole 102 pounds by the end of January (25th to be exact), but I do feel that I will be WELL on my way and WELL within reach of that goal. It’s been pretty easy this time. I haven’t had a soda, diet or other, in 2 weeks now and I have to say I really don’t miss them that much. A lot of water and some OJ and some green tea from time to time is doing the trick.

Next on my agenda though is to get a new mattress. My old one is making early morning workouts more difficult due to the fact that my back hurts every morning now. I work through it. I feel though that if I get a new set and can sleep better then I will improve faster than what I am doing currently.

Monday Again?

Yes it is Monday all over again. That’s O.K. we/I can handle it.

Today was leg/abs day. I worked harder, but I’m still not sure it was enough. I don’t feel any soreness of the muscles. Except maybe the abs a little. No worries I get another chance later this week to do it all over again and I will start heavier than what I did today. I have to do something to break them down some so I can build them up.

Anyway I am at work now and about to start my day so for now I will leave you with, “There ain’t no free lunches in this country. Been a couple days

I know I said that I would write something everyday. Well apperently I was wrong.

I do have some news to post today though. I’m down 3 pounds for the week bringing me down to 335. That means only 100 pounds to go to reach my ultimate goal of 235.

Just to keep you up to date. Workouts have been going good. It’s a little tough getting back into after SO long away from it. It gets better every day though. Monday, was upper body which so far has been my toughest challenge. I’ve never been super strong in my upper body, Tuesday was Cardio and yesterday was legs and abs. I didn’t work my legs near hard enough. I thought that I was doing good with them but today there is no apparent soreness of any of the muscles in my legs. So I guess that means that the next leg day will KILL.

Monday We’ll call it Day #1

Wondering why I’m calling it day #1? Well let me tell you why I am calling it day #1. Today was the first day of my new 12 week workout program. I am using the Body For Life program as a structure for my program.
Today was upper body weight training. So I’m already a little sore. I’m sure it will be even better/worse tomorrow. Speaking of Tomorrow, I will be doing a full 20 minutes on the Elliptical machine with an interval type of rhythm to it. So I’m sure I will be exhausted after that.
Meals have been good. Haven’t slipped. I also finished my last 2 liter of diet soda. For now I will be drinking a green tea when I want something other than water.
I will be checking my weight on Thursday to see if there is any change. So stay tuned.

Saturday

I’ve been up since 6:00 a.m. I know what you’re thinking, “why the hell would you do that?” Well let me tell you why I did that. I am more of a morning person than I actually like to admit. So why not wake up at 6 on a Saturday and go to the gym for a little cardio goodness?

So that is what I did this morning. I was at the gym on the bike by 6:20 spent 10 minutes on it then moved over to the elliptical machine to test myself. I was able to go a full 10 more minutes on it. I know it doesn’t sound like much but if you read my weight and body fat percentage a couple posts back you will understand that to me that is quite an accomplishment in only a few days of none sedintary living.

So finished at the gym came home had one of the premade protein shakes that come in the “old school juice box”, or at least that’s what I call them. Then showered of course. Cooked breakfast next. Had to “Better’n Eggs”, 4 slices of turkey bacon, slices of whole wheat toast with smart balance butterish and a glass of OJ. DELICIOUS!

I guess that’s it for now. I will probably still walk for lunch just because it’s part of what I do.

Oh, almost forgot about lunch. For lunch I have lean ground beef cooked on the George Foreman. It will be cradled in a lovely sara lee whole wheat hamburger bun and will be washed down with a cold bottle of water. Of course there will be snacks periodically throughout the day to keep my metabolism running full steam ahead.

Dinner I think will be grilled chicken with Barilla linguine noodles and some alfredo sauce. It WILL be awesome.

Friday

O.k. so Fridays are my official off day from the gym. That doesn’t mean that I won’t be walking at lunch though. So don’t worry I will still get some exercise today.
